Once you’ve signed your design agreement, the next step in our process is an in-depth Scope & Discovery meeting at your home. This visit lays the foundation for everything that follows — from accurate design plans to seamless construction. It’s our chance to see your space in person, understand your goals, and gather the details we need to start creating your dream renovation.

What to Expect at the Scope & Discovery Meeting
Our team arrives well-prepared. Depending on the scope of your project, you may meet with a combination of your Project Designer, Project Manager, and occasionally our Engineer. Our roles are clearly defined so we can stay efficient, avoid information overload, and ensure everyone is working together as one cohesive team.

Here’s how the meeting flows:

1. Design Agreement Finalization (if needed)

Before we begin, we’ll make sure the design agreement is signed and your initial payment has been received. If this hasn’t happened yet, we’ll sit down with you to complete the paperwork. It’s important to have this step wrapped up before we move forward.

2. Field Measurements & Site Details
Next, we’ll take precise measurements of the existing space, and document key structural and mechanical details — things like furnace location, electrical panel capacity, water lines, and more. If you have any existing blueprints or house plans, this is a great time to share them. These early measurements are essential to building a design that fits both your vision and your home’s existing framework.

3. On-Site Photos

We’ll also take photos of each relevant area. These images serve as a vital reference as we begin your design and ensure that no detail is overlooked once we’re back at the drawing board.

4. Design Vision Discussion
Now comes the fun part — we’ll sit down together and explore your ideas. Your Project Designer will offer ideas as well, helping refine the direction of your design.

Why This Step Matters
The Scope & Discovery meeting bridges your initial inspiration with the technical requirements of a well-executed remodel. It’s how we ensure accuracy, catch potential issues early, and lay the groundwork for a smooth and successful design process. Most importantly, it gives us the opportunity to see your space through your eyes — so we can design something that truly reflects your style, goals, and how you want to live in your home.

Coming up next: The Design Phase — where we take everything we learned during this visit and begin shaping your ideas into a customized, buildable plan.
