Every successful remodeling project begins with clarity, communication, and a shared vision. That’s why the very first step in our design process is the Initial Consultation a structured, informative meeting where we get to know you, your goals, and your home.

Here’s what you can expect:

1. Listening First: The Questionnaire
We start by walking through our comprehensive project questionnaire together. We take the time to fill in each answer verbatim, capturing your thoughts, preferences, and concerns exactly as you share them. This ensures we truly understand your needs from the very beginning.

2. Transparency: Reviewing the Design Process
Next, we go over our entire design process using our in-house visual guide. You’ll find a copy waiting for you on the conference table when you arrive and we walk you through each phase so you know what’s ahead, how long it will take, and what you’ll receive at every step.

3. Seeing is Believing: Deliverable Samples
We believe in showing, not just telling. You’ll get a firsthand look at real examples of our design deliverables from mood boards and elevations to detailed perspective drawings. We even share a sample field folder to highlight how thoroughly we document and manage each project. (We’re always clear that this level of detail happens after the construction agreement, but it’s a great way to show the foundation we build during the design phase.)

4. Your Vision: Photo Review (No Design Advice Yet)
We’ll look through any inspiration photos or ideas you’ve brought with you, not to dive into design just yet, but to better understand the type of project you’re considering. This helps us give you the best rough estimate of the overall investment.

5. Cost Expectations: The Design Fee + Budget Range
Once we understand the general scope, we’ll give you a design fee quote first, then a project budget range. We always present pricing with ranges and clarify that final costs depend on the detailed scope and material selections we develop during the design process.

6. Ready to Move Forward?
If you’re ready, we’ll sign the design agreement on the spot and schedule every meeting in the design phase, giving you a clear timeline and keeping the momentum going. If you need time to think, we respect that and will schedule a follow-up. We always document the conversation and keep our CRM up to date.

7. Behind the Scenes: Job Folder Creation
Once the design agreement is signed, we begin your official job folder. That’s when your project officially enters our workflow.

This initial consultation isn’t just a meeting, it’s the moment we start transforming your vision into a real, beautifully designed plan. Ready to take the first step?
